In Kingdom Hearts III, Critical Mode was not in the base game, but instead with the 1.04-1.05 update. No prerequisites are required to unlock it.

• HP and MP are cut in half.
• AP is raised to 60.
• Sora takes x2 damage.
• Sora deals x.5 damage.
• Sora gains x.75 EXP.
• Situation Commands take more effort to build up.
• After the Dive to the Heart segment, Soldier's Earring is automatically equipped.
• Critical Mode-exclusive abilities are obtained after encountering Darkside:
