It’s been ten months since the release of Kingdom Hearts III, and the anticipation has long since turned towards the release of the game’s upcoming downloadable content, Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind. Today, a new trailer for the upcoming DLC was released during Sony's State of Play livestream, revealing new content for the game.

The new trailer reveals all new content for Kingdom Hearts III, including the return of Aerith, Leon, and Yuffie, who discuss Sora's disappearance with Riku. Later, the trailer shows Sora living Aqua's pain during her years in the realm of darkness and facing a color-swapped version of Dark Inferno before Terra-Xehanort attacks him. It also shows all the Guardians of light as playable in the final battles and participating in a simultaneous fight against the Real Organization XIII. We again see the scene between Luxord and Luxu in Olympus, discussing the Black box, before cutting to Demyx, who confronts Riku in the Keyblade Graveyard. Kairi and Sora are also shown together in The Final World before cutting to scenes showing Kairi fighting one of the Seekers of darkness and at one point using a powerful shotlock attack. An expanded version Scala ad Caelum can be seen later in the trailer, with Sora activating some sort of device to reveal rails that he can slide on to explore the town. Lea, Roxas, and Xion then team up to fight someone in the Keyblade Graveyard. Next, we see Riku and Aqua discussing Aqua's next move, which sounds like she's preparing to return to the realm of darkness. In the final scene, we find Sora in what appears to be The Final World, only at night now. We hear Chirithy explain that Sora won't be able to return to his own world without his power as we watch Sora seemingly call for someone. Finally, we see Sora run towards a young man who begins to walk towards him, Yozora, as Sora and another voice begin to repeat the words from the opening of the first game, "I've been having these weird thoughts lately..." You can view the gallery from the trailer below.

The trailer was accidentally leaked through the official Kingdom Hearts YouTube channel as an unlisted but public video on Friday, December 6, and was made private shortly thereafter before today's official reveal. Within hours on Friday, series director Tetsuya Nomura, Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind, and Kairi became trending topics on Twitter.

Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind is now available for pre-order, with the highly-anticipated DLC set to release on January 23, 2020 for PlayStation 4 and February 25, 2020 for Xbox One. The downloadable content will feature the additional story "Re Mind", the Limit Cut episode with thirteen boss battles, the secret episode and boss battle, a data greeting feature, slideshow feature, and premium menu with diverse difficulty settings and gameplay challenges for $29.99 USD. Another package for $39.99 also adds a concert video with 19 tracks, presumably from the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra -World of Tres- performances. The upcoming DLC will also feature the release of the free 1.07 update, which will also have a main story update, new abilities, and the Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblades with new formchanges for each. Square Enix also announced that sharing features would be expanded, though they didn't go into any details at this time. Now that the trailer is officially out, what do you think? Will you be pre-ordering Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind?
