Square Enix and Disney today released a video recapping the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary event, showing snippets of messages from the development staff, the featured music, and audience reactions as the development team announced Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link and Kingdom Hearts IV.
The event, which was held on April 10, 2022, at Shibuya Hikarie in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the release of the original Kingdom Hearts, and featured tons of artifacts, concept art, and memorabilia from throughout the series. The presentation itself featured messages from the development staff, including series composer Yoko Shimomura, series executive producer Ichiro Hazama, and series directory Tetsuya Nomura, among others. It also featured music performances, a message from theme song writer Utada Hikaru, and the premiere of the trailers for Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, and Kingdom Hearts IV.
At the end of the recap video is a small teaser scene from the upcoming finale for Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, featuring an unidentified blue-hooded person holding a small Xehanort. The video ends announcing that the finale of Kingdom Hearts Dark Road will release on August 26, 2022. You can view the recaps below in both Japanese and Japanese with English subtitles:
