"Why the Sun Sets Red" is a cutscene in the high-definition remake of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
Story[edit | edit source]
Axel finds Roxas the clock tower in Twilight Town. Roxas explains that it had been 255 days since he first joined Organization XIII. They both recall how Roxas was when he first joined the Organization. Axel then begins to explain why the sunset is red, with Roxas replying that he didn't ask. Roxas then wonders aloud where Xion is.
Transcript[edit | edit source]
Axel: "You're early."
Roxas looks up to see Axel standing behind him.
Roxas: "No, you're just late."
Roxas sits down next to Axel.
Roxas: "Today makes 255."
Axel: "What's that about?"
Roxas: "It's been that many days since I first joined the Organization. Man, time flies."
Axel: "So, you got the number memorized, do you?"
Roxas: "Yeah. Have to hang onto something, right? It's not like I have memories from before the Organization. Don't you remember? I acted like a zombie."
Axel: "Right, that first week you could barely form a sentence. But come on, you're still kind of a zombie."
Roxas: "Oh, thanks!"
Axel: "Hey, Roxas. Bet you don't know why the sun sets red. You see, light is made up of lots of colors. And out of all those colors, red is the one that travels the farthest."
Roxas: "Like I asked! Know-it-all."
Roxas and Axel laugh.
Roxas: "Seriously, where is she?"
Roxas (in narration): "The destiny that is about to unfold actually started when we first met on the seventh day after I came here."
