Square Enix and Disney today released a trailer that marks the beginning of the celebration of the series' 20th anniversary. The trailer is relatively short, but packs a lot of information. It begins by featuring several different scenes from the Kingdom Hearts series in a plaid-like pattern before transitioning through the various announcements.

The first is that the series will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch via cloud streaming. The announcement was originally made during the final DLC fighter presentation for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, during which Sora would be in the series. The series will be arriving in three packs: Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind. Each title can be bought individually, or they can be bought together in one package titled Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud.

Additionally, new merchandise was teased, with the promise that more merchandise coming soon. The featured items in the trailer include the long-awaited KINGDOM HEARTS III Alba & Ater Set, a chess-like set based on the game Eraqus and Xehanort are seen playing in Kingdom Hearts III; and a Kingdom Hearts-themed suitcase.

Square Enix also re-announced the availability of Kingdom Hearts Union χ's entire story on mobile platforms via its Theater Mode, as well as announcing that finale for Kingdom Hearts Dark Road will be coming this winter. The news of game's finale comes after an announcement late last week that the update had been delayed.[1]

The trailer finally ends by revealing the new logo for the upcoming 20th Anniversary celebration, which features half a heart and a Keyblade making up the "2" and a full heart replacing the "0". The reveal was followed by a tease of an upcoming Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary event, with details set to be revealed in an upcoming date.
