- Kingdom Hearts series to release on June 13, 2024, on Steam.
- A nearly five-minute trailer will release tomorrow at midnight JST for the upcoming release.
- The new trailer will feature a new recorded version of Utada Hikaru's "Simple and Clean"
Square Enix announced today that nearly the entire Kingdom Hearts series will be arriving on the Steam platform for PCs next month. The impending release marks the first time any title in the Kingdom Hearts series will be available on Steam. It also marks the arrival of the series on the last major gaming platform it wasn't previously available on, having previously released on PlayStation 4 and 5; Xbox One, Series S, and Series X; the Epic Games Store; and the Nintendo Switch.
The following titles in the series will be releasing on Steam:
- Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX
- Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
- Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD Cinematic cutscenes)
- Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD Cinematic cutscenes)
- Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
- Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC)
Notably missing from the Steam release is the 2020 rhythm RPG title Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, and its absence has so far not been explained.
Square Enix revealed that for Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX in particular, the Steam release will feature "textual updates to its graphics," although what those updates are exactly are still unknown.
In addition to the Steam release of the Kingdom Hearts series, a collection titled Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece will be released containing all of these titles. Finally, purchasing Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC), whether as part of the Integrum Masterpiece collection or on its own, will unlock a new platform-specific Keyblade called Dead of Night, which is a reskin of King Mickey's Star Cluster Keyblade using the Steam logo's colors.
A new trailer for the series will be releasing tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM MDT on YouTube. The trailer will feature a new recording of Utada Hikaru's "Simple and Clean", the theme song of the original Kingdom Hearts.
