Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png Alright! So, here's our first project on the brand new Kingdom Hearts Database! This forum will basically be an expanded version of what we've been discussing on the Database Discord over the last few months, being a lot more specific. The project is evolving as we go along, so feel free to discuss whatever changes we need to make! In short, however, the goal of Project Kingdom Key is to speed up the general reliability of the Database by focusing on certain areas in the Kingdom Hearts series to cover in the short time we have before Kingdom Hearts III releases. In this way, we hope to show the kind of site we want to be and the kind of content we want to have, increase trust among the community in us and our reliability in being factually correct (even if the breadth we're correct in is small for the moment), and attract people who may want to contribute to the Database, thereby making covering the entire series easier as time goes by.

For each item here, we want to make sure a few things are happening:

  • The article exists
  • There's a format in KHDatabase:Manual of Style for that kind of article, and the article is written adhering to that format.
  • The article looks just like other articles of its type (similar to other game articles, or other character articles, etc.)

Kingdom Hearts III articles[edit source]

We'll definitely want to stay up-to-date on everything Kingdom Hearts III. This is possibly the biggest shot we have at getting into the community, as everyone right now will be searching their souls out for everything they can on the game (and if experience says anything, they'll keep running into fake information). So, here's the current list of articles related to Kingdom Hearts III-content that we need to make sure are covered.

This is about getting the text from all the scenes in the game, plus the optional text-bubble scenes. These I think would be great to have by the time KHIII comes out, but aren't too necessary. This part also ties into how we want to handle Theater Mode. I've written two articles on cutscenes (Destiny and A Fairy Tale?), and will write two more in a different way to see how we want to handle these.

Interviews[edit source]

The first is interview transcript archives. I'd like to get permission from other sites that have archived these interviews (KHInsider, KH13) for us to use and re-post these for our own archiving purposes, obviously crediting them (and where it applies, involved translators). For these, we should focus on the interviews we need as we write articles, rather than going down the list of all their interviews. Thus, there's no checklist here other than for the permissions needed from these people:

Press releases[edit source]

Since Square Enix has moved their news site and/or split it around multiple times, it would be a good idea to consider archiving press releases where they announce games, details, etc. I only recently started thinking about this, so it's not super urgent right now, though we should talk about it.

Walkthrough/Minigames/Completionist[edit source]

Basically, some basic information on the objectives needed to accomplish 100% in the games. Not necessarily detailed walkthroughs (yet), but just the Jiminy's Journal objectives, maybe some tips on accomplishing them. There are three main areas for this:
